Biography

OBITUARY : MR. CHARLES NORMAN FOSTER, 71, of Fernley, NV passed away March 28, 2012. He had been in failing health since August 2011.

Born May 17, 1940 in Waynesboro, PA, he was the son of the late William Stuart and Mary Agnus (Lizor) Foster.

Mr. Foster attended St. Andrew Catholic School in Waynesboro, St. Joseph's School in Emmitsburg, MD and Waynesboro High School.

He served in the United States Marine Corp for 20 years retiring in 1977.

He and his wife of 49 years, Mrs. Maria (Cherillo) Foster, were married March 23, 1963 in Naples, Italy.

Following his retirement from the service, Mr. Foster was employed at Grove Manufacturing, Shady Grove, PA for several years and for the Civil Service. He retired in 2003.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by four sons, William R. Foster and his wife, Janet and Charles N. Foster, Jr., both of Reno, NV, Robert P. Foster of Fernley, NV and Christopher R. Foster of Flagstaff, AZ; 11 grandchildren, Nickolas, Abigail, Benjamin, Jason, Ryan, Andrea, Casey, Amanda, Eric, Alex and Alessia; one great-granddaughter, Bethany; two brothers, William S. Foster and George E. Foster, both of Waynesboro; four sisters, Margaret L. Riley of Darlington, MD, Catherine T. Burner of Fayetteville, PA, Ruth N. Sweeny of Hagerstown, MD and Betty A. Green of Waynesboro; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Rosemarie Foster; and a brother, Frank Foster.

Burial with military honors was held in Nevada Veteran's Memorial Cemetery in Fernley, NV.

A memorial mass will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, April 21, 2012 in St. Andrew Catholic Church, 12 North Broad Street, Waynesboro, PA with the Rev. John B. Bateman officiating.
