The mother of James Irby Fowler was Avaline Thompson, not Elizabeth Brown, (who was born 1818 Laurens South Carolina and died 1880 in Austin Texas). Avaline and William Fowler, born 1795, are buried in the Fowler cemetery in Garfield Texas. They married in 1845 in Laurens, South Carolina. Linda Fowler Denison
