Biography

Ernest Henry Fowler was born on 23 May 1909 in Burghfield, Berkshire, England^[1], the son of Frances (Venn) Fowler and Tom Fowler.

1911, 1 year old, Ernest was living in Caversham, Oxfordshire, England with his parents, Thomas (age 28, Labourer on farm) and Frances (29) and brothers, Thomas (4) and James (3)^[2].

The streamer, Euripides set sail from London, England via South Africa on 11 March 1921 with the FOWLER family among the passengers and arrived in Port Melbourne, Victoria, Australia on 20 April 1921^[3][4]. The FOWLER family consisted of parents, Thomas (age 33, farmer) and Frances (39) and their children, Thomas (14), James (12), Ernest (11), Lily (9) and Dorothy (9).

He married Jessie Lillian McLeod in 1944 in Victoria.^[5]

Ernest died on 19 June 1977 in Terang, Victoria^[6] and was buried at the Terang Cemetery, Terang, Corangamite Shire, Victoria, Australia^[7].
