Henry William was born on the 1 December 1831 at 5 Ogle Street, in the City of Westminster, Parish of St. Marylebone, City of London, Middlesex & London, England. He was the son of Mechanic, William (Fowler) and Mary Ann (Maiden name not recorded).

By 1861, Henry William (Fowler) has married Rebecca Matilda (Freeman) and they live with her daughter, Hannah (Freeman) and their children Rebecca Matilda and William James (Fowler). Their residence is located at 5 Little Pancras Street, District of St. Pancras, Parish of Saint Pancras, Middlesex & London, England[3].

With the Census of 1871, the family is living at 3 Light Brook Street, Somers Town, Parish of St. Pancras, London Borough of Camden, Middlesex & London, England. Henry and Rebecca Matilda reside there with children Rebecca Matilda, William James, John, Joseph Margaret Susan and Harry (Fowler), along with Boarder, James (Yates)[4].
