Ruth Fowler was born about 1785 in probably Cocke County, Tennessee. Her father's name was Thomas Fowler, "a native of Ireland, who was also a soldier in the Revolution."

She died abt 1827 when her brother in law Levi Wood wrote to his brothers John and David Wood in 1827. She most likely died in Cocke County, Tennessee.

This is a significant letter. Levi mentions that he has a child and also he is divorcing his wife, Rachel Shipley. He also alludes to the fact that David Wood's wife, Ruth Fowler Wood has died.
