Biography

John H. Fowler, son of Robert Fowler, was born in Marshall township, Allegheny county, Pennsylvania, was there educated and grew to manhood, his father's assistant. During the first ten years after leaving home he was a riverman on the Ohio and Mississippi rivers, later settling on a farm in Marshall township. He was a justice of the peace for twenty years, a school director, member of the United Presbyterian Church, and a Democrat in politics. He married Matilda, daughter of James Sample, of Marshall township. Children : Rosina, Charles, Robert, deceased, John, deceased, Jennie, deceased, Fannie, Thomas, William J., of further mention.
