Mourning Fowlkes was born 19 Nov 1767 in Amelia County, Virginia.[1] She is the daughter of Gabriel Fowlkes and Ursula Thompson.[2] She married William Penick 28 Sep 1786 in Amelia County, Virginia.[3] She died 2 August 1824 in Caswell County, North Carolina.[4]
