Biography

Nancy was born about 1789 in Amelia County, Virginia. She is the daughter of Nathan Fowlkes and Nancy Bagley. [1][2][3][4]

She married Pleasant Gills[5] and the couple had the following known children:

  1. Ann A. Gills was born about 1822 in Amelia County, Virginia and died 25 Mar 1878 in Nottoway County, Virginia.[5]
  2. Elizabeth Gills was born about 1824 in Virginia.[2][3]
  3. Judith Gills was born about 1826 in Virginia.[2]
  4. Lucy A. Gills was born about 1827 in Virginia.[2][3]
  5. Robert Gills was born about 1828 in Virginia.[2]
  6. Elvira Gills was born about 1834 in Virginia.[2]
  7. Joseph[3] Madison Gills was born about 1835 in Virginia.[2]
  8. Louisa Gills was born about 1837 in Virginia.[2][3][4]
