American actress who starred in many silent films of the 1910s and 1920s.

Virginia was born April 2, 1902 in Wheeling, Ohio, West Virginia, USA. She is the daughter of Frederick Fox and Mary Oglesby.

She married Darryl Francis Zanuck on January 1924 in Los Angeles, Los Angeles county, California. She was 20, a native of West Virginia and he was was 23, a native of Nebraska and his parents were given as Frank Harvey Zanuck and Louise Torpin. Witnesses were Fred L. Fox and Frederick C. Fox, both residents of Los Angeles.^[1]

The couple separated in 1956 over the studio mogul's affairs with other women, though they were never legally divorced. According to Zanuck biographers, she cared for him at their home from the time he became mentally incapacitated in the early 1970s until his death in 1979.

Virginia died at the age of about 80 on October 14, 1982 in Santa Monica, Los Angeles county and was buried in Westwood Memorial Park in Los Angeles, Los Angeles county, ^[2]
