Biography

Mary "Polly" Elizabeth Fox was born 14 July 1799 in South Carolina.^[1][2][3][4] She was the daughter of Titus Fox and Elizabeth (Wright) Fox.^[1]

She married Ebenezer B. Sisk on 16 April 1820 in Hopkins County, Kentucky.^[2][5] They had eleven known children:

In the 1850 U.S. Census, Mary Sisk, age 51 (born about 1799 in SC), was enumerated in Hopkins County, Kentucky with husband Ebenezer B. Sisk, age 48, and children; Robert M, Ebenezer W, Mary J, Martha A, Susan E and John Sisk.^[3]

She died 3 or 13 June 1859 in Madisonville, Hopkins, Kentucky. The death date inscribed on her tombstone is 3 June 1859 but other researchers believe she died 13 June (but could be a typo).^[2] She was buried in Flat Creek Cemetery, Mortons Gap, Hopkins County, Kentucky.^[4]
