Biography
Maurice Fox-Strangways was a member of the aristocracy in England.
He was the son of Walter Angelo Fox-Strangways, 8th Earl of Ilchester and Laure Georgine Emilie Mazaraki.[1]He was born on the 1st of April 1920 at Port Tawfiq, Egypt.[2]He married Diana Mary Elizabeth Simpson, daughter of George Frederick Simpson, on the 29th of November 1941.[1]At Witney, Oxfordshire, England.[3]He died on the 2nd of July 2006 at age 86 at Tunbridge Wells, Kent, England.[4]

Now I find some people in my own family tree that shed light on the origin of this name.
It is "Vaux le Strange" originally
"Vaux" was a Norman surname that gradually becoma anglicized through mispronunciation to "Fox"
The "le Strange" family was also very prominent and le Strange became anglicized to "Strangeways"
The combination arose when Thomas le Strange (1493-1545) married Anne Catherine Vaux (1500-1569) and had a son that they named Roger Vaux le Strange (1525-1594).
I believe it was many generations before the anglicization of Vaux le Strange to Fox-Strangeways took place.
