Biography

Grace Lyster and Anthony Foxcroft married in 1577 at Halifax, Yorkshire.^[1][2]

Grace, wife of Daniel Foxcroft was buried on 2 July 1622 in Halifax, St John the Baptist.

Research

This profile was comingled with a profile for Grace Foxcroft (maiden name), but was linked to a marriage between Grace Lyster and Anthony Foxcroft. Since there was no record for Grace Lyster yet on Wikitree, it makes more sense to disentangle the two people rather than merge them together and lose the data for this Grace.

The confusion may have arisen as Grace seems to have remarried shortly after Anthony's death to Daniel Foxcroft. The Foxcroft pedigree in Thoresby's Ducatus Leodensis shows Daniel's second wife as Grace Lister.^[3] Anthony died in 1589 and was buried at Halifax on 24 July 1589.^[4] Less than 3 months later, 15 October 1589, there is a marriage for Daniel Foxcroft and Grace Foxcroft, probably Anthony's widow.^[5]
