Hi Again Robert,

I sent you a check-in message a week ago about the Military and War Project to ask you about your continued involvement but have not yet heard back from you. Do you still want to be in the project? If I do not hear from you by the same time next week, I will assume that you've moved on to other things. You are most welcome to re-join the project at any time.

Best wishes,

Thanks Bruce. I'll see what I can find. Got the school records for the 3 girls, so hopefully that's a lead.

You have adopted quite a few pre-1500 profiles, you may have not have realized the pre-1500 profiles cannot be edited unless you have the pre-1500 certification. Ancestors this far back are shared by many many descendants, and it's important to be sure that sources are complete and accurate. You can read how to get the pre-1500 certification and other requirements for working in this period here: https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Help:Pre-1500_Profiles

Thanks Kim, Yes, i keep threatening to do this. i also want to keep an eye on some of these as I am looking at a few lines and adoption seems the best way:)

I see you completed teh pre-1700 quiz a couple years ago so you may want to review those points first. Next please review the link I sent regarding pre-1500 qualifications. There are specific requirements you should probably work on first before you adopt pre-1500 profiles.

Highlights:

  • After you've done the pre-1700 self-certification quiz and gained some experience providing sources and editing early profiles on WikiTree you can request pre-1500 certification.
  • As part of the certification process you will be asked to identify a pre-1700 or Project Protected Profile where you have made significant contributions as a practical demonstration of your knowledge of sources and WikiTree style. You will also be asked to provide information on your Pre-1700 project participation and the name of a Project Leader who can confirm your participation as an advanced wiki genealogist.
  • As a demonstration of your commitment to our Honor Code please make sure that any Unsourced Profiles on your Watchlist have been addressed.

Could you please take a look at your profile for Sarah Adams-34701. You have her marked as being DNA confirmed, but the profile lacks the supporting statements to back that up. You also have her under a green privacy lock so no-one can help improve her profile. Could you please either remove the DNA confirmed tag, add the right confirmation statement, or open the profile so that other people can help.

Thanks

Hi Robert,

I noticed that you were currently following the CEMETERIES tag, but were not yet a member of the Cemeteries Global Cemeteries Project. If you are interested in more details about the project, or are just ready to sign up, please head on over to our G2G Welcome Post for more information.

I look forward to seeing you around the tree!

Hi Robert,

I haven’t heard back from you about the break up of the United Kingdom Project. I hope all is well with you. I assume you don’t wish to join any of the country-level projects at present, and will go ahead and remove the United Kingdom badge. If you wish to join England, Scotland, Wales or Ireland in the future, you would be most welcome to do so via the respective G2G sign-up post.

Many thanks for all your contributions,

Susie :-)

Hi Robert,

We realise the time has come to dissolve the UK Project in favour of the individual country projects of England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland.

We are checking in with all UK badge holders to find out which country project(s) you would like to be in so you can collaborate with other members, have the opportunity to select which team(s) you would like to join, and so we can ensure you have all the correct badges.

Please respond by PM to let us know which country project(s) you would like to be in. Please don’t assume we know. We are effectively starting from scratch to make sure no one falls through the cracks.

Once you have done this, the Coordinator for Membership in the relevant country project(s) will be in touch to help get you situated.

Many thanks,

Susie

Hi, Robert!

Thank you so much for responding to our check-in. We are delighted that you wish to continue contributing to the Military and War Project. Below is a quick checklist for active members. The project leaders would like you to make sure you have done the following:

1) Checked the Project Page for ways to contribute.

2) Added MILITARY_AND_WAR to the tags you follow.

3) PMed the Project Coordinator with your email address to be added to the Google Group.

4) Bookmarked the Activity Feed to monitor the project watchlist.

Thank you!

Hello, Robert,

On behalf of the Military and War Project Leaders, we are doing a six-month check-in with members.

First, we want to thank you for your past participation in the Military and War Project. We appreciate your desire to honor your ancestors for their service to their countries, or even for your service, wherever in the world. We hope that your membership has enhanced your WikiTree experience.

Please let me know, by commenting on my profile or sending a private message, if you are still active in the project, and if so, in which ways you have contributed to the main project or a sub-project within the last two months.

I look forward to hearing from you soon.

hi Robert. do you think maybe you can help me? my mom had me at 17 and i was adopted by her husband. i don't know who my father is. mom said his name is Leroy Gross from Edgewood, MD however I have found new relatives on Ancestry.com and none seem to match up to anyone in the Gross family. my mom is Shirley Ann McGowan.
Hi Robert, we seem to have a few things in common (Southern Highland Cemeteries!). Anyway, I notice you have been creating pre-1700 profiles with very limited information about your sources. You may find the England Reliable sources page useful for pre-1700 profiles in England. Thanks so much.

If you change your mind in the future you would be most welcome to rejoin.
