Christening

31 Jul 1756 Kenwyn, Cornwall. Ann was from Kea and her father was James.[1][2]

First Marriage

5 Jun 1779 Redruth Henry Uren of Gwennap and Ann Francis. Henry signed and Ann made her mark. Ann was 'of Redruth'. Marriage was by Banns. One witness was Henry Francis.[3][4]

Second Marriage

6 Sep 1794 at Kea. Almond Cornish of this Parish and Ann Youren widow of this Parish were married by Banns. Both Almond and Ann made a 'sign'[5][6]

Ann's great grandson Henry Francis Euren remembered visiting Ann Cornish when he was aged about 15 and in his memory she was about 100. She lived near Truro. Just before her death (in 1848) Tom Cornish, her son, who had gone to America as a sailor and turned up at Goldsithney (home of HFE's parents). A year after his 1st visit HFE went to Truro and stayed with Ann's married daughter and again in January 1856 on the way to London. He recounted that the Falmouth railway now runs through their farm.

Location of Farm

See attached image. In 1800 a lease was granted for the sum of five shillings of good and lawful money, for the; ”all and singular that new built dwelling house on Killiow Down and three acres of the same to hedge in and right of common and pasture of the said Down - situated in the parish of Kea and known by the name of Hallen Vrane Moor”. The Lives on the lease were Almond, Ann and Thomas. The dwelling house was gone by 1907. The lease is privately held. See also Tithe map. Almond Cornish is listed on the original 1846 survey for the Falmouth Branch Railway The dwelling is just south of the old poor house in an area known as Halonmoor situated within the Killiow Estate..[7]
