Baptism

25 Aug 1793 Gwennap Alice daughter of Henry and Mary Francis[1]

At Easter 1844 she had the Inn at Relubbas, St Erth according to the Churchwarden's Account

In 1831 at the baptism of their son, George William Uren, William's occupation is listed as victualler, ( they held the licence at The Crown Inn at Goldsithney) and it remained so until his death, 8 July 1840, ( he was listed as an InnKeeper on his death certificate ) when Alice took over the licence,

Hi Sarah, Alice is one of my 2xg grandmothers. She emigrated with some of her children to Australia in 1849. She died at Forest Creek near Castlemaine, Victoria on 27 May 1860. Her son William Uren was my great grandfather and his youngest child Daisy Josephine Uren was the mother of my mother.

Hi Alan, good to hear what happened to a distant cousin! Alice was a 3rd cousin of my gt gt Grandfather Henry Uren, tailor of Goldsithney. Probably too distant for the DNA to match. Sarah

The gravestone for those who died young is in Perranuthnoe Graveyard

Died Y. 27 MAY 1860. Forest Creek, Victoria, Australia. Age: 66-67.

Residence 1860 Age: 66-67.

I am so pleased to finally see how I am connected to this family. They were in Goldsithney in the Parish of Perranuthnoe, as were my Uren family, who were tailors. I kept all the records of William and Alice and now I find I am related, but through Alice's Francis family and not through the Urens after all! I keep being surprised at how common the Uren name is in Cornwall. I was Sarah Euren as my gt grandfather added the E thinking it had Norse origins.

Francis-3159 and Francis-2133 appear to represent the same person because: Same year of birth and death details. Both had husband with surname Uren. Baptism at Gwennap is sourced.

I have changed back the place of Baptism to Gwennap and removed the marriage to William Uren. The latter was in Gwinear and I have no evidence that Alice Francis was involved as Francis is a common name.
