Virginia was born in Pennsylvania in 1905. She passed away in 1981.[1] She was the daughter of Lawrence and Anne Francis.[2]
In 1910 and 1920, Virginia was a resident of Duquesne, Pennsylvania.[3][4] By 1930, she was a resident of Washington, D. C.[5]
Research Notes
Virginia Gertrude Francis, later Virginia F. Wickersham, may be Frances F. Wickersham. Both are listed as separate wives of Morgan Wickersham on sites like FamilySearch.org. Frances is listed as the wife of Morgan in the 1930 census[6] and as his widow in his obituary,[7] but Viriginia is listed as the mother of their child born in 1934.[8] The use of Frances/Francis in both names is also noteworthy. If Virginia is Frances, then Virginia and Morgan married sometime during 1930 after April (when the Washington D. C. census was taken - the Maryland census is not dated).
