I am building my La Roche Family tree based on a written family tree given to my relatives in Michigan by Patrice La Roche. He has done major ancestry work for the Association des Familles a La Roche et Rochette. This will be a slow process and I will be contacting him to hopefully coordinate and get direct sources. I certainly can find information online but I am going to attempt to get information from the Association. If anyone on Wiki Tree is already a part of the group please let me know. Warmest regards,
Louisiana Families - tag is louisiana_families (sorry if this doesn't apply - I thought I recognized GALARNEAU as a Louisiana family, but I don't see it listed under the project's category
Hi Melissa! Welcome to WikiTree and thank you for your contributions. There are several projects you might be interested in - Quebecois, Filles de Roi, and Louisiana Families based on your tags.
I also noticed you've added some profiles that included the "dit" names in the LNAB field. Currently, WikiTree guidelines say to include "dit" names in the Other Last Name(s), Current Last Name, or Other Nicknames field (see this section of the Name Fields page).
You are now a confirmed member of WikiTree! Thank you for volunteering.
I thought you might be interested in checking out our Filles du Roi project. If you have ancestors who were involved in this emigration, search for them in the boxes at the top of your profile page. They may already be here!
Have fun and ask for help if you need it! WikiTree members are always eager to offer guidance to a fellow genealogist.
If you need additional help, our Mentors Project is a friendly bunch of volunteers who will be glad to assist you with WikiTree-specific problems.
Welcome to WikiTree! The initial email from us has helpful links that will get you started on WikiTree, which is not like any genealogy site youve ever used.
WikiTree is different because our goal is to have one profile per person, and that means we all work together as a BIG collaborative team!
What brings you to WikiTree? Do you have research youd like to share? Are you interested in how your family fits into the big tree? When you confirm your email address, youll have an opportunity to volunteer and tell us about your genealogical interests.
Once you volunteer, one of our Greeters will be happy to confirm your membership, and youll be on your way!

One of the many G2G discussions is here.
Logging off for now, but I'll be back tomorrow night. In the meantime, G2G is a great place for questions!
Cheers, Liz
