Biography

Charles Edward "Buzz" Francis was born on 4 August 1938 in Twelvemile, Madison, Missouri. He was the son of Leo Francis and Verna Lucille (Cooper) Francis.[1]

During the 1940 census Charles Edward "Buzz" (age 1) was living in Central Township, Madison, Missouri with his parents and siblings. His father, Leo was working in the lumber industry driving a truck. Leo had completed 2 years of high school and Verna had completed the 8th grade. Buzz's siblings were: Dorothy (age 4), Hilda Lee (age 3), and John Robert (age 2 months).[1]

In 1950, the family was living in St. Michael Township, Madison, Missouri, United States. Charles' father, Leo, was working as an operator at the Natural Gas Pump Station in Zion, Madison, Missouri. [2]

Buzz was a Corporal in the Army Infantry and was wounded on 15 February 1951 in South Korea[3]

When Buzz was 23 he married Judy Kerbow on 25 October 1961 in Saco, Madison, Missouri.[4]

Buzz died from cancer at the age of 41 on 1 February 1980 in Fredericktown, Madison, Missouri.[5]

Buzz was buried after 1 February 1980 in Revelle Cemetery, Cherokee Pass, Madison County, Missouri.[6]
