Justina (Francis) Williams was born in Llanelly, Carmarthenshire, Wales.

Biography

Christiana was born in 1817 and baptised at Capel Als non conformist chapel on the 6th of August 1817. She was the daughter of David Francis and Justina Arnold. It is important to note at this point that the name written in the register was Christiana and her mother's name is written as Justina. The transcription on Family Search has her mother's name also written as Christiana.

Whether it was intentional to have her name written as Christiana in the baptism register or whether it was an error by the minister of Capel Als is not known but by the next source document which is her marriage to David Williams on September 21st 1838, she is using the name Justina. She continues to use Justina on all further documents found. The name Justina will be used in her biography from this point on as that would match in with her use of the name.

As has already been stated, Justina married David Williams at St Elli Parish Church, Llanelly on the 21st September 1838. At this time David is a collier living in Water Street Llanelly and Justina is living at Talsarnau (probably Swansea Road Llanelly) with her parents.

David and Justina had seven identified children between 1839 and 1859 and they are listed chronologically below.

Justina and her family can be found in all the census records from 1841 to 1881 initially living in Ann Street Llanelly close to her mother who was at the Bull Inn. By the 1871 census, the family had moved to 11 William Street Llanelly.

She passed away in Q3 1889.
