Abraham Francisco came from Essex County, New Jersey to Pittstown, now Rensselaeeer County, New York about 1771. He was still listed as a resident of that place in 1790. Removed to Ontario County, New York about 1814.
He was a private in the 14th Albany County, New York Militia during the Revolution and served under Capt. De Garmo, Capt Henrick Vanderhoff, Col. Peter Yates and Lieut. John Van Rensselaer. In "Certificastes of Treasurer", a manuscript record in the Albany Library, Vol. VI, it is shown that he received pay for military services under date of June 2, 1780 and again October 26, 1780.[1]

Abraham Francisco was a son of Johannis Hendricksz (John Henry) Francisco and Alida "Aeltje" DOREMUS. He marreid Hester VAN DER COOK 25 August, 1773 at the Reformed Dutch Church at The Half Moon, Saratoga Co., NY. They had ten children, all of whom survived to adulthood: Cornelia, Alida "Olive", Sarah Ann "Sally", Laventje "Lovina", Dr. John Alvin, Michael A., Hester, Elizabeth, Henry A. and Clarissa "Clary". In the Revolutionary War, Abraham served as a Private in the 14th Regiment of Albany Co. Militia (aka "Colonel Peter Yates' Regiment"). The identity of his grave has been preserved with the addition of a flat bronze VA marker. His original marker (which is still standing) reads:

Feb. 11th, 1826 aged 75
years.
This flesh shall slumber
in the ground
Till the last trumpet's
joyful sound
Then burst the chains
in sweet surprise
And in his saviour's image rise.
