John Francisco served with 14th Regiment, Albany County Militia, New York Militia during the American Revolution.

The third child of Johannes "John" and Aeltje (Doremus) Francisco, this John Francisco was baptized at the Gansegat Reformed Dutch Church, Gansegat, Essex Co., NJ. He married 1. Sarah Mandeville, a daughter of Hendrick and Magdalena (Spier) Mandeville in 1769 in Greenwich, Washington Co., NY. They had nine children: Hendrick, John, Magdalena (called "Aulie",) Thomas T., Cornelius I., Francis, David, Alida and John Henry. Sarah died in 1820 and lies buried in the Old Cooksborough Cemetery, Town of Pittstown, Rensselaer Co., NY. John then married 2. Abigail? who survived him.
John served in the Revolution as a Private, Sergeant, Lieutenant and Lieutenant Colonel in the 14th Regiment of Albany Co. Militia. His new bronze marker, which was arranged for by Francisco family descendant, Lyn Wilson, was dedicated on 23 September, 2006. The plaque was unveiled and flags and a wreath were placed by John's 6th great nieces and nephew, Shannon, Shelby and Shane Smith.
