Note N1048Apr 2 1864, George Frank bought from John Deardorf and wife Elizabeth the 74 acres which completed the west half of the SW 1/4 Sec 30, twp 22, range 19 and 7 1/2 acres being a part of NW 1/4 (across Settlement Rd) for 00.
(Eliza's obit lists her dob as 1842 so she wasn't 50 as the census states) On April 21st 1880, George elected to buy the 6 acres on the south end of his half quarter for the appraised value of 25. He paid the other heirs of his parents their share. (Vol 79 p 159 no copy yet) Shirley Koch has possession of the mortgage George Frank signed when he bought the farm. ??Price 1500. or 999. plus listing annual payments plus annual delivery of hay.
George was paralyzed from at least 1 Jul 1893 according to a doctor bill submitted after his death. He apparently died intestate; H.W. Hildebrant was appointed administrator. Jacob Molder, Geo. Bargahiser, and Peter Smith were the appraisers. The estate sale was held the third day of October 1893. Funeral service given by Rev. Kohler of Crestline; casket and robe provided by Sutter Barkdull Co. Shelby, OH. Hildebrant was a notary public and justice of the peace. Cause of death was paralysis, his place of residence was Sharon twp. Papers concerning the estate sale and settling of George's estate accounts are contained in Richland Co, Ohio Box 3751. Emma, Amanda, and Katherine Frank had James Anderson appointed their legal guardian 27 Nov 1894. Richland Co, Ohio General Index Vol 2. Box 2275 applies. Eliza could not sign her name. The appointment papers of H. W. Hildebrant as administrator of George's estate estimate the value of personal property at 00 and real estate at 260 1/2 acres at /acre. After George's death, sons G. William and John petitioned the court demanding partition of certain real estate: Sharon twp, Richland, Ohio East 1/2 of SW 1/4 of section 30 twp 22, 80 Acres sold to George W. Frank. for 00. (Deeds Vol 108 p 22) This property was shown as belonging to A Duncan on the 1873 map of Sharon twp. West half of SW qtr of section 30 twp 22 Range 19 sold to Eliza Frank for 25. (Deeds Vol 108 p.251-2). This property was shown as belonging to George Frank on the 1873 map of Sharon Twp. 100 1/2 acres of the property are unaccounted for in these sales. Quite possibly, John Frank bid on the property north of Settlement Rd which was listed as owned by Barbara Frank on the 1873 map of Sharon Twp. (check out tax maps.) A marker indicates George, Anna, and George, son of George and Eliza, are buried in Nazor-Schwartz cemetery. The marker lists Anna as 30 y 1m 10 d and George 69 y 18 days.
