Biography

Léon Frank was born in Landau, Germany, on 27 March 1853.[1]

He was married to Nanette Loewi. Their children were:[2]

  1. Oskar Frank
  2. George Ottmar Frank
  3. Jean Michel Frank, born in Paris, France, in 1895.

He was a stockbroker in Paris.[3]

Léon Frank died in Paris on 11 November 1915, during World War I.[4] He committed suicide. His two older sons had died within two weeks of each other at the French front during the summer of 1915, and the French government had seized his bank accounts and canceled his business deals because he was a native of Germany.[5]
