Biography

Charles "Charley" John Franklin was born 28 Mar 1874^[1] in Sweden.^[2][3][4]

According to the 1925 Iowa state census, Charles had been living in the US for 37 years (1888) and in Iowa specifically for 10 years(1915).^[3] The 1910 census of Chicago, Cook County, Illinois gives an immigration date of 1885 for Charles.^[5]

He married wife Anna S. about 1900^[5][2][3] and had the following known children:

1. Floyd Albert Franklin was born 12 Apr 1900^[6] in Joliet, Will County, Illinois.^[7][2][3][5]
2. George H. Franklin was born in Illinois about 1903.^[2][3][4][5]
3. Earnest C. Franklin was born in Pennsylvania about 1906.^[2][3][5]
4. Charles "Charlie" R. Franklin was born in Iowa about 1919.^[2][3][4][8]

Charles died sometime after 1940, possibly in Hancock County, Iowa where he was living at the time.^[8]
