Biography

Allen Franklin was born 04 Mar 1803[1] in South Carolina.[2][3]

He married wife Nancy Chapman on 18 Jan 1826 at St. Tammany Parish, Louisiana[4][2] and the couple had the following known children:

  1. James M. Franklin was born about 1827 in Louisiana.[2]
  2. Benjamin A. Franklin was born about 1829 in Mississippi.[2]
  3. Eliza Franklin was born about 1831 in Mississippi.[2]
  4. Thomas Franklin was born about 1833 in Mississippi.[2][3]
  5. William Morris Franklin was born 17 Aug 1836 in Mississippi, died 26 Jun 1916 in Floresville, Wilson County, Texas and was buried in Harper Cemetery, Wilson County, Texas.[5][2]
  6. Wiley Franklin was born about 1837 in Missisippi.[2]
  7. Allen Franklin was born about 1839 in Mississippi.[2]
  8. Sarah Emily Franklin was born about 1842 in Mississippi.[2][3]
  9. John Franklin was born about 1843 in Alabama.[2][3]
  10. Caroline Franklin was born about 1844 in Louisiana.[2][3]
  11. Ralph Franklin was born about 1846 in Louisiana.[2][3]
  12. Richard W. Franklin was born Dec 1848 in Texas,[2][3][6] died in 1911 and is buried in San Miguel Cemetery in McMullen County.[7]

Allen died 18 Feb 1884 and is buried in Floresville City Cemetery in Wilson County, Texas.[1]

Allen Franklin was born Richland County, SC, 4 March 1803. He moved through Georgia in 1811 to St. Tammany Parish, Louisiana. By 1830 he had moved his family to Rankin county, MS. During the 1840's he moved to AL, Louisiana again, and TX. He landed at Sabine Pass, TX in 1848, and was living in Jefferson County, TX in 1850. He does not seem to be enumerated on the 1860 census. In 1870 census he was in McMullen County. He died and was buried in the Floresville Cemetery at Floresville, Wilson County, TX, 18 Feb 1884. His parents were Thomas B. Franklin and Jemima Morris. pg 174.
