Phillip Franklin was born 25 Feb 1707 in Swansea, Bristol County, Massachusetts to James and Martha Franklin.[1][2][3]
Philip Franklin of Swansea and Rachel Horton of Rehoboth, were married by Rev. David Turner March 31,1728.[4]
Philip died 05 Feb 1797 and is buried in Franklin Cemetery, Guilford, Windham County, Vermont.[5]
A bronze tablet in memory of Philip Franklin, ancestor of Calvin Coolidge, President of the United States, was attached to a large boulder on the Old Albany Post Road, part of Cumberland County, New York, before Vermont became a state. It was dedicated July 20, 1939, and is located at Packer’s Corners, Guilford, Vermont, near the Dr. Sweet property. [6]
