New information on this Franklin line from Y DNA testing indicates that there is at least one NPE in this lineage, as male Franklin descendants of Wyatt's sons Peter and Benjamin (participants David Franklin and Jefferson Franklin) do not match one another on Y DNA testing. Additionally, neither participant matches any other Franklin group in the Franklin Y DNA project, however potentially significant atDNA matching to the FY02 group is noted for the test of the descendant of Benjamin Franklin. Results are pending for an atDNA test for the descendant of Peter Dubois Franklin, that may shed more light on the matter. For now, the descendant of Benjamin's test indicates he is haplogroup T-M70, while the test of the descendant of Peter Dubois Franklin indicates he is haplogroup R-M269, meaning the two are totally unrelated. Additional male Franklin participants taking Y DNA tests in the project will be needed to determine when and where the disconnect/NPE occurred.
William Wyatt Franklin was born in South Carolina 20 Apr 1811, died 01 Sep 1865 and is buried in Old Yellow River Cemetery. There is apparently some discrepancy about his death date and true burial location. A handmade marker, no doubt placed MANY years after his death is in the above cemetery. However, someone has made claim of another cemetery having record of his burial there with a slightly different date. Sources supporting this need to be presented. Also the findagrave page has a typo the marker clearly states 01 Sep not 11 Sep like the typed data shows on the page.
So there is a conflict in records about Wyatt's death and burial location. The grave is listed at Oak Grove cemetery but there is a picture on Findagrave that is located at the Old Yellow River Cemetery, Okaloosa Co., Fl. I have been unable to find the grave site.
Wyatt married his first wife Delilah Holley about 1834 and had the following known children:
Andrew J. Franklin was born in Florida about 1835.
William H. Franklin was born in Florida 05 Jun 1844, died 15 Jun 1925 in Okaloosa County, Florida, and is buried in Red Oak Cemetery
Delilah died in the 1850s in Santa Rosa County, Florida and Wyatt married his second wife Sarah "Sallie" Dubose and had the following known children:
Wyatt Franklin was born in Florida on 04 Jun 1858 and died 13 May 1927 in Red Oak, Okaloosa County, Florida.
Peter Dubose Franklin was born 03 Jun 1865 in Beaver Creek, Florida, died 07 Nov 1933 in Crestview and is buried in Beaver Creek.
Also seeking documentation for parents of Wyatt. Many state he was a son of Thomas Franklin & Elizabeth Sizemore however documentation located on Thomas and Elizabeth indicates they had no son named by this name, so it is believed Wyatt had other parents.

It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Wyatt by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA.
