Biography

Lemuel Franklin was born 29 Aug 1732 in Swansea, Bristol County, Massacusetts to John Franklin and Hannah Record.[1]

After his father John's death in 1738, Lemuel and his sister Elizabeth were placed by the Court of Bristol County, Massachusetts in the guardianship of Jonathan Kingsley[2] In 1748 his brother-in-law Richard Round of Rehoboth took over his guardianship.[3]

He married Sarah Barney on 24 Sep 1757 in Rehoboth, Bristol County, Massachusetts[4] and the couple had the following known children:

  1. David Franklin was born 19 Feb 1758 in Swansea, Bristol County, Massachusetts.[5]
  2. Hannah Franklin was born 08 Jan 1760 in Swansea, Bristol County, Massachusetts.[6]
  3. Elizabeth Franklin was born 24 Sep 1761 in Swansea, Bristol County, Massachusetts.[7]
  4. Shabil Franklin was born 20 Feb 1765 in Swansea, Bristol County, Massachusetts.[8]
  5. Daniel Franklin was born 24 Jul 1765 in Swansea, Bristol County, Massachusetts.[9]
  6. Alice Franklin was born 20 Feb 1767 in Swansea, Bristol County, Massachusetts.[10]
  7. Anna Franklin was born 21 May 1769 in Swansea, Bristol County, Massachusetts.[11]

On 01 Feb 1762 Lemuel Franklin and others, purchased land in Bristol County, Massachusetts from Benjamin Barney.[12] And on 16 Sep 1773 Lemuel purchased land from Daniel Barney.[13]

Franklin-2486 and Franklin-2872 appear to represent the same person because: I created a profile for Lemuel Franklin in error. You had previously created a file for Samuel (Lemuel) Franklin. I believe both are the same. The wife is Sarah Barney, who married Samuel on 10/18/1757.
