Benjamin FRANKLIN was born on 20 Mar 1650 in Ecton, Northampton, England. He died on 17 Mar 1727 in Boston, Suffolk, Mass. He was buried in Granary Cemetery, Boston, Mass. According to the autobiography of Benjamin Franklin, in writing about his uncle Benjamin for whom he was named, Uncle Benjamin was bred a silkdyer, serving an apprenticeship at London. He was an ingenious man. I remember him well, for when I was a boy, he came over to my father in Boston, and lived in the house with us some years. He lived to a great age. His grandson Samuel Franklin now lives in Boston. Benjamin mentions that there was a particular affection between his father, Josiah and his uncle Benjamin and that is why he was named after his uncle. Parents: Thomas Sr. FRANKLIN and Jane WHITE.
