Biography

Overview: Cassius C. Franklin was the son of John N. Franklin.[1] He was born in February 1853 in Ohio.[2][3][4][5]

Early Life: Cassius appeared on the following census living at home with his parents:

1870 Grant, Putnam County, Missouri[6]

Later Life: On 22 Nov 1874 in Putnam County, Missouri, Cassius married Lydia A. Franklin, [7] daughter of Thomas Shelton Franklin & Hannah Ann Minear.

About ten years after their marriage, Cassius and his family were living in Custer County, Nebraska. [8]

Cassius and his family appear on the following U.S. Censuses:

1880 Glenwood, Schuyler County, Missouri[9]
1900 Scotts Bluff County, Nebraska[10]
1910 Scotts Bluff County, Nebraska[11]
1920 Scotts Bluff County, Nebraska[12]

The couple had the following known children:

  1. Charles E. Franklin born in May of 1878 in Missouri.[2][9]
  2. John William S. Franklin born in March of 1880 in Missouri.[2][9]
  3. Carrie E. Franklin born in August of 1893 in Nebraska.[2][13]

Cassius passed away June 1, 1927 from a stroke and is buried in High Butte Cemetery, McGrew, Scotts Bluff County, Nebraska.[2][4][14][15]
