On 4 February, 1862, he married Lucy A Ashby. [5][6] She was the daughter of Zachariah Ashby and Louisiana Darnaby. Stephen and Lucy had the following children:
Stephen Franklin was born 18 Mar 1863 in Kentucky , died 25 May 1933 and is buried in Best Cemetery, Anderson County, Kentucky.[7][8][9]
