• John Franklin is in Iowa by 1860 in the census, but also before then as his daughter Mary married William Peacock in 1857... the daughter's obituary in 1899 says she came from England at age 22, which would have been 1855, giving the time when the family came over...

also found in 1870 and 1880 censuses... in 1870, Cival War widow Mary Peacock and three children, who were in Kansas in the 1860 census, are on the same page as John Franklin, in Penn, Johnson, Iowa 1870 Census.
