William Owen Madison Franklin was born in Jefferson County, Alabama 30 Sep 1846[1][2][3] to Owen A. Franklin and Martha Moore.[4]
He served as a private, along with his brother David, in Company B, 10th Alabama Regiment of Jefferson Volunteers.[5][1]
He married Sara Christina McClinton[6][3] and had the following known children:
Elisha Monroe Franklin was born in Alabama 16 Nov 1868, died 15 Sep 1907 and is buried in Chalkville Baptist Church Cemetery, Chalkville, Jefferson County, Alabama.[7][3]
Alonzo Franklin was born in Alabama about 1876.[3]
Bessie Franklin was born in Alabama about 1878.[3]
Sudie Odie Franklin was born Mar[2] 1883 and died 07 Dec 1951 in Birmingham, Jefferson County, Alabama.[6]
Emma Bessie Franklin was born 30 Jan 1878 in Alabama and died 13 Jan 1960 in Garland, Dallas County, Texas.[8][2]
On 05 Mar 1890 W.O.M. Franklin married Mary A. (Dollar) Dunlap in Jefferson County, Alabama.[9][10]
W. O. M. died at Chalkville, Jefferson County, Alabama.[11] Alabama on 06 Nov 1928.[12][13]

I W. O. M. Franklin being of sound mind and disposing memory, do make this my last will and testament hereby revoking all former wills at any time heretofore made by me.
First: I will that all my debts and funeral expenses shall be paid by my executor as soon after my decease as practicable.
Second: I give devise and bequeath unto my heirs all the property real, personal and mixed, of which I may die seized and possessed of or to which I may be entitled at the time of my decease.
Third: That my executor shall have the right to dispose of my property at his discretion, and equally divide same among my lineal heirs or their descendants.
Fourth: I appoing without bond my son F. A. Franklin as executor of my last will and testament.
