Pat, I have been told that my Franklin line may have migrated from theSomersetshire area to the Bandon area of Ireland, and thence to other areas of Ireland, but I have no proof of that. My great grandfather,Martin Franklin married a Bridget Kirby in Doon RC church, Limerick in1862. He was a resident of the townland of Commanealine, Co. Tipperaryat the time. He may have been baptised in Cappawhite RC parish in Nov. 1815, but again, no proof it is the same Martin.
Also, I have indications of a nearly identical DNA match with a personwith the MAY surname, from the area of Somersetshire. Also, info thatthe Franklins who originally went to Ireland were likely Quakers?
So, to answer your direct question, I cannot say that I have ancestorsin England, but one never knows for sure!
Steve
