Biography

Edward was born in 1705 in Somerset county, Maryland. He passed away in 1782 in Worcester county, Maryland. Edward was the son Ebenezer Franklin and Bridget Wale (also spelled Whaley). [1]

Edward was named in his uncle's will on 16 November 1720 at county, Maryland. It was on this date that Elias Wale, wife Sarah, mentioned Edward, son of Ebenezar and Bridget Franklin in his will. [2]

Edward was named in his father's will on 3 October 1727 at Worcester Co, MD. He was shown as son Edward and was given plantation The Exchange in the will of Ebenezar Franklyn.[3]

Edward married Tabitha Peale, probably about 1735 in Somerset county, Maryland. Tabitha and Edward had the following children:

  1. Lemuel Franklin, born about 1735
  2. John Franklin, born about 1736
  3. Peale Franklin, born about 1738
  4. William Franklin, born about 1740
  5. Molly Franklin, born about 1745
  6. Ebenezer Franklin, born about 1747
