Biography

Sarah was born in 1799, probably in South Carolina. She is the only daughter born to Jacob Franks of Pennsylvania for which any documentation exists. She accompanied the family group first to Blount County, Tennessee in the very early 1800s. By the 18teens, the family group was in White and Warren Counties, Tennessee. She married Abner Markham in about 1817 in Tennessee. She passed away before 1855, in either Marion, Alabama or Itawamba, MS, where Abner remarried.

Research Notes

The 1800 census for Jacob Franks in Greenville, South Carolina, includes one female under the age of 10. This is presumably Sarah, and is the documentation mentioned above.
