Hi folks. Theuderic is not "King of the Franks" is he?

After his dad dies, and the kingdom is split up, he's the King of Metz (i.e. Austrasia); as was his son. He didn't re-unite his father's kingdom(s). One of his brothers did, or at least, deserves the title this guy doesn't.

Theuderic's brothers:

  • Childebert I, King of Paris & (later) King of Orleans
  • Choldomer, King of Orleans
  • Chlothar I, King of Soissons, King of Orleans, King of Rheims, King of Paris, King of the Franks

He's a frankish king, yes. But not "King of the Franks."

Thoughts?

Franks-522 and Merovingian-64 appear to represent the same person because: Theuderic I of Franks - buried Metz - father of Theudebert. Please merge into Merovingian-64
I-121 and Merovingian-64 appear to represent the same person because: Same notable person

There is no evidence for the name of his first wife, Theodebert's mother.
