According to numerous Census records, Albert Frantz was born in Illinois to German-born parents however his children state he was born in Europe on 4 Apr 1861.[1]

Albert married Susan Frances "Fannie" Watts on 17 Mar 1886 at Douglas County, Kansas[2] where the couple is found along with their first three children in 1900.[3] By 1910 they have moved to Scott City, Kansas and youngest son Ira is six years of age.[4] By 1915 the family had moved the last time and resided in Plains, Kansas after a three day trek from Scott City.[5] The family lived in a three room house in Plains. Fannie took in laundry and also baked for others. Albert had a delivery barn, dray line, rental buggy and a windmill and stock tank which watered horses of farmers on their trips to town. Later Albert was a janitor of the school. Fannie passed away in 1942 and Albert on 2 October 1945 at the age of 84. He is interred at the Plains Cemetery.[6]
