  • In 1857, he lives in Sydney,New South Wales,Australie.
  • fermier, il migre en Australie à bord du Zemindar parti le 23 mai 1857 de Londres et arrivé le 25 aout 1857 à Sydney à l'âge de 20 ans ; sait lire mais pas écrire.[1]
  • John after only moderate success on the goldfields was employed as a farm hand by T C Suttor at Bathurst. Later after again trying his luck on the Mitchell fields he rented 100 acres from Mr Suttorand farmed for 5 years with considerable success.In 1863 he purchased 100 acres at Guyong and later built the house “Round Hill” from local stone purchasing additional land surrounding it.[2]
