Biography

Myrtle was born in 1900 on the Fraser family farm, which was about 2 miles north of Emerson, at the north end of Lake Louise, in the RM of Montcalm.

She married H.B. "Bernie" Empey on 14 June 1921, at the Lake Louise Farm. They farmed on the Empey family farm at Ridgeville until they moved into Emerson around 1948, where they lived in the "Terrace".

Myrtle died in Emerson on 14 Sept 1978. She is buried in the Empey family plot in the Emerson Cemetery.

Note: Although Myrtle's birth certificate shows her middle name as "Bell", she always told us it was "Isabel". Record of marriage reads "Myrtle Isabel".
