I am the daughter of John McBride Fraser and Jean Carol Hardman. I have a BA in mathematics from Swarthmore College and MS and PhD in Industrial Engineering and Operations Research from the University of California - Berkeley. I was an engineering faculty member for 40 years at Purdue University, the Ohio University, and Colorado State University - Pueblo, where I was chair of the Department of Engineering for 21 years.
I am now failing retirement. I am active in local activist groups such as Clean Air Pueblo, the Southern Colorado Economic Development District, Pueblo's Energy Future, and the Renewable Energy Owners Coalition of America. With a business partner, I am co-owner of The Ethos, at 615 East Mesa Avenue, Pueblo, Colorado. We offer spaces for makers, sober bar, community hall, and commercial kitchen. I sew.
While I was born in New Jersey, almost all of my ancestors (including my father) were born outside the US, in Canada, England, Scotland, and Ireland. In about 2012, I was shocked to discover one line, through Oliver Stiles (1757-1833) and Rebecca (Peck) Stiles (1758-1850), that goes through Canada back to the colonies. Their ancestors didn't come over on the Mayflower, but they weren't far behind. It turns out I do have roots in North America.
I seek to document and honor all these ancestors by placing their information on WikiTree and I am grateful to the WikiTree members who make this site so wonderful.

Congratulations on certifying to work on pre-1700 profiles! It’s very important to read and understand the Pre-1700 Profiles page. These profiles for deep ancestors are shared by many, and collaborating on them works best if we all follow the guidelines in the certification quiz.
Primary sources should always be added to pre-1700 profiles at the time they are created. If you don't have a source for a pre-1700 profile, it would be best to ask for help in the G2G forum before creating the profile.
