Biography

Simon, son of John Fraser, was baptised on 2 June 1780 in Kilmorack, Inverness-shire, Scotland.^[1]

There is a record on Ancestry of his marriage in Haerlem, New York to Maria Barclay in an American Newspaper dated 30 August 1806. ^[2]

After their marriage they appeared to have crossed back to Scotland as their first two children were christened on the same date in Inverness, Scotland. His daughter Susan Barclay Fraser was born on 13 July 1807 and christened on 13 September 1809 in Inverness Scotland. ^[3]His daughter Margaret Nicholson Fraser was born on December 6 1808 and christened on September 13 1809 ^[4].

At some stage the family moved to Berbice (later known as British Guiana and then Guyana) where both the daughters mentioned above were married. ^[5]

He died in about 1840, almost certainly in British Guiana.
