Note: The above Seminary records are very interesting as they establish Fenwick's middle name as "Bayne" All other records I've seen to date just list him as Fenwick B. Fraser. This would suggest that other researchers are correct that his father's --Daniel B. Fraser's -- middle name is also "Bayne" or "Bain." It also helps in tracing his ancestry!
Census record: 1900 United States Federal Census, Durham, Greene, New York;
His length of stay at the Simmons Convalesent home was 14 days. His age at death is listed as 84 years, 2 months, and 27 days. This record also lists that he retired in 1928. The Informant was Mrs. J. Wm. Etzel, niece.
Death notice: "The Lowell Sun," Lowell, Massachusetts, Thursday, June 3, 1948;
"Rev. Fenwick B. Fraser, a former resident of Auburn and Romulus, N.Y., but for the past five years making his home in Chelmsford, where he resided with his niece, Mrs. J. William Etzel of 41 Sylvan avenue, died yesterday at the Simmons Convalescent home in Billerica, after a brief illness, age 84 years.
He was a retired Presbyterian minister, having served the church for nearly half a century prior to his retirement about 15 years ago. Born in Pictou, Nova Scotia, the son of the late Daniel and Elizabeth (McKean) Fraser, he received his early education at the academy in that town. He came to the United States as a young man and enrolled at the Auburn, N.Y., Theological seminary, from which school he was graduated in 1890. Rev. Mr. Fraser was ordained to the Presbyterian ministry in New York state in April of that year but he continued post-graduate studies at the seminary through out the following year. During his career, he had served pastorates throughout New York state, South Dakota, New Mexico, Nebraska, California and Kansas and at the time of his retirement, was affiliated with the Presbytery at Geneva, N.Y., serving as pastor of the Romulus Presbyterian church. Mrs Etzel is his only survivor.
Rev. Mr. Fraser will be taken to Romulus, N.Y., where services will be held and interment will take place. Arrangements are in charge of Funeral Director Robert T. Morse.:
