Lilah was born in 1906. She was the daughter of Frank Frayer and Lottie Haviland.
She recieved an associates degree from Normal Teaching College in Ypsilanti, Michigan and taught third grade at several schools throughout her career, including Cone Elementary.
After Tom, Russ and Elaine were in middle school, she took night classes to got her Bachelors from Eastern Michigan (she graduated the same year Elaine graduated high school) and continued teaching until she was 65.
Lilah was active member of society, involved with woman's club, the grange in Tecumseh, and a teachers sorority. The teachers sorority lobbied and got the state to draw white lines on the side of the road.
She passed away in 1993. [1]
