Nancy Lee was born 15 Jul 1771 and passed away 20 May 1862. [1] She married Evan Gillispie/Galaspy in 1789 and they had the following children: William, Elizabeth, Evan & Owen (twins), Polly, Jeremiah and Nancy. [1][2]
According to the Find A Grave memorial, John and Elizabeth Frazier lived in Rocky Mount, Franklin County, Virginia. John's signature can be found on land transfers with his son-in-law's, Evan Gallaspy's, signature. One of these is on the land transfer of John Utley Wade. [1] Evan and Nancy Galaspy transferred two parcels of land, consisting of 88 acres to Evan, Jr. and 70 acres to William on 5 Nov 1828. [1] They also conveyed two parcels of land consisting of 120 acres to Jeremiah and 106 acres to Owen on 20 Jan 1829. [1]
Research Notes
John Frazier (Frashier) and his wife, Elizabeth, signed a permission for marriage between their daughter, Nancy, to Evan Galaspy (Glaspa) on 16 Mar 1789 in Franklin County, Virginia. A copy of it is found on the memorial page for Evan Galaspy. [3] On the marriage record, which is also contained on the memorial page mentioned above, the recorder left Nancy's last name off, so that it looks like her last name is Lee. I believe this is the error which led to a second Find A Grave Memorial for Nancy Lee Galaspy. [4]
