Biography

Hannah (Frazier) Chaney was born in Kent, England.

Hannah Frazier was born about 1829. She was the daughter of William Frazier and Letitia Collard (unknown). Hannah was baptised on 19th April 1829, at St Nicholas church in Rochester, Kent. ^[1]

In 1841, Hannah was seen residing with her parents and two siblings in John Street, Rochester, Kent. ^[2]

In 1851, Hannah was still living in her parents' home in John Street, Rochester. Her younger sister was also present. Hannah's father was a tidewaiter. ^[3]

In 1854, Hannah married William Chaney. The marriage was registered in London City. ^[4]

In 1861, Hannah and her husband were living in Upper Britton Street, Gillingham, Kent. The couple had three sons and a daughter. Hannah's husband was employed as a shipwright. ^[5]

By 1871, Hannah was the mother of five sons and a daughter. Hannah and William were still residing in Gillingham, Kent. Hannah was 42-years-old. ^[6]

In 1881, Hannah and her husband were living in Pepler Road, Camberwell, Surrey. There were seven sons and one daughter in the household. ^[7]

By 1891, Hannah was 62-years-old. She and her husband were living in Croydon, Surrey. Four sons and their only daughter were still living in the household. Hannah's husband was a retired dockyard worker.^[8]

In 1901, Hannah was seen staying in her daughter's home with her daughter's husband and two children. The family were in Chatham Town, Kent. ^[9]

Hannah passed away in 1908. Her death was registered in Croydon, Surrey. ^[10]
