I'd love to restore the functionality that we lost when OneWorldTree was removed. It was loaded with errors, but still sparked the interest in Genealogy for thousands of people. Learning how you're related to famous people can be very motivating when first starting out.
DNA Tested
Alex Free's DNA has been tested for genealogical purposes. It may be possible to confirm family relationships by comparing test results with Alex or other carriers of his ancestors' Y-chromosome or mitochondrial DNA. Y-chromosome DNA test-takers in his direct paternal line on WikiTree:
  • Alex Free: Family Tree DNA Y-DNA Test 67 markers, haplogroup E-M78, FTDNA kit #88631
Mitochondrial DNA test-takers in the direct maternal line:
  • Alex Free: Family Tree DNA mtDNA Test Full Sequence, haplogroup H3b1b1, FTDNA kit #88631
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share DNA with Alex:

Have you taken a DNA test? If so, login to add it. If not, see our friends at Ancestry DNA.

I got curious about why you were working on some Jewett profiles ... seems we're both 9th great grand sons of Edward Jowett (Jowett-84) ... then your line goes through Joseph and mine, Maximilian. Jowett became Jewett a bit after those boys came to the New World (1638).

Another curiosity is that your folks ended up in White Salmon, Washington and I grew up in Tacoma ... a mere 200+ miles away. My line traveled through Canada for a couple hundred years. Now I'm in Colorado.

Anyway, thanks for all the good work you're doing on our ancestors!!

Welcome to our community, Alex. The more ancestors you add, the more likely cousins will find you and help.

Our Honor Code, G2G forum, help pages, search features, and many other useful links can be accessed from the menus on the upper right corner of most pages.

Our G2G forum has a social gathering spot, the Tree House. Please consider stopping by to introduce yourself.

VERY IMPORTANT: The more documents, sources, dates, and locations you provide on the profiles you create, the stronger your branches and our mutual global tree will be. If you don't know the correct date, please estimate using before or after.

Thank you for helping in our mission to build a global tree with only ONE profile per person.

Hope you enjoy WikiTree!

Me again!  ! I see you have uploaded your DNA for comparison. Did you know we have a project for DNA where a lot of great new things are happening? If you are interested and would like to check it out, go to the FIND link top right of your profile page, select PROJECTS from the drop down box, and then select the link for the DNA project. It has information listed that might be of interest to you, and feel free to contact any of the members if you would like additional details. ~Michele~

I noticed you uploaded a GEDCOM. Here's a link to a great step-by-step of the process including screenshots that you might find helpful.

The help pages give lots of information about the process, best to start with 'Before you import a GEDCOM'. ~Michele~
