David was born in 1883. He passed away in 1956.
Argus (Melbourne, Vic. : 1848 - 1957), Thursday 16 July 1908, page 6 CHAFFCUTTER ACCIDENT. PORTLAND, Tuesday.—This afternoon David Freeland, a young farmer of Narrawong, had the thumb of his left hand badly crushed by it being drawn into a chaffcutter. He was driven to Portland, and was attended by Dr. Jones, who found it necessary to amputate the thumb.
