George passed away on the 15th of January 1959, at the time of his death he was a patient at the Highbury Private Hospital, Wentworth Road, Burwood, New South Wales, Australia. George was cremated on the 16th of January 1959 at the Rookwood Crematorium, Sydney, New South Wales, Australia, his ashes were then scattered in the Rose Garden at the Crematorium.
