Biography

US Black Heritage Project
Jude Freeman is a part of US Black heritage.

Jude was a slave of William Freeman, who devised her to his son Aaron Freeman in his 1737 will. Her date of birth is estimated about 1725 as she is referred to as a girl. Jude was likely born in Chowan Precinct, probably a daughter of Rose Freeman. Andrew being the presumptive father.

Jude was to stay with William's wife Mary until the end of her widowhood either by marriage or death. If Jude was to bear a child, then that child was to go to son Samuel.[1]
